Indeed, no blade longer than 4 inches (100mm) is allowed to be carried. and it must be foldable ... and no spring-loaded flick knives (think ebil gangsters flicking open a stiletto, in the movies).
Mind you, IRL a lot of damage can be caused with a disposable box-cutter or even a butter-knife. The arguments for knife control are really stupid. I mean, it is not really that easy to carry anything but a pocket-knife in public. People tend to notice a scabbard even for a simple Bowie.
Of course Cold Steel has some lovely blades, resembling pocket-swords, that fit the regulatory requirements, and still offer a proper, substantial knife for salami-eating, kindling-paring and box-cutting purposes.
