WEEEKLY CHAT - WEEK 49!
WEEKLY CHAT #49
OK, let's try the weekly chat idea, V2. Been hearing some positive comments! Seems like we have a winner! Give it a chance! Here goes! <3
Has anyone used one of those "cold laser therapy devices" for humans and pets? If so, what did/do you think of it? Does it help at all with what you used it on?
I originally got one to see if it would help our dogs acl, but used it on us also. I have to say it does help with pain. I used it on our dogs acl/knee area, didn't even leave it on for the time I should have, and he was walking without too much of a limp or lifting his leg off the floor. Used it on my husbands neck muscles that were bothering him and it helped take the pain and tension away. I'm talking within a few minutes. My back and hips were very painful, so I used it on those areas, and it helped with most of the pain, maybe if I did it for more time (I'm impatient, lol) maybe would have worked better.
Here's what I got off the pamphlet that came with the device...
It stimulates cell regenerations and increases blood circulation.
It employs deep-penetrating light to promote a chain of chemical reactions known as photobiostimulation. This process also helps relieve pain through the release of endorphins and stimulates injured cells to heal at accelerated pace. It can reduce pain by reducing inflammation through "vasodilation" (the opening of blood vessels) and by activating the lymphatic drainage system, thus draining fluid from swollen areas. Less swelling, less fluid means less pain. These features allow cold laser to provide a non-invasive, pain-free treatment that is adjunctive or complimentary therapy for a variety of conditions.
Sounds interesting. I use red light therapy for all kinds of reasons. But this sounds good too. Glad it’s helping you and the pup.
What brand did you get?
