I'm going to call BS on that. The US government claims to have 261,498,926.241 troy ounces of gold, or 16,343,683 pounds. A Boeing 747-8F carries about 300,000 pounds of cargo, so to move the entire claimed US gold holdings would be 55 flights worth.
No way, no how does the Vatican have 10 times the amount of gold as the nation that claims the largest gold stockpile on earth. The would be more gold than the top 10 nations, comprising over 3 BILLION people and well over half the world's GDP.
