I personally think the church shouldn't be exempt from paying taxes. The reason is because we need to follow the example of Jesus. He paid his taxes to the government. We know this because he sent Peter out on a fishing trip to collect the money needed for the Roman tax.
In contrast, tax exempt status has given churches and their pastors the free ticket to take money from their flock and use it on everything but preaching the true gospel. They preach something all right, but it is the so called prosperity gospel that says that if you give to me (Pastor or TBN), God will bless you in return.
and in addition to your points, the "church" of scientology does not believe in God...
In a perfect world I would exempt churches, but in the real world... where everyone is a scammer or grifter... removing their tax exemption is ideal.
This is America not Rome. America is supposed to be free. Free people do not pay taxes.
Taxes are an acceptable part of sociity, but not to the tune of thousands per year. Taxes are so bad that we are nearing Robin Hood type conditions, and I mean the Disney movie where Prince John jails almost everybody after he taxes him out of house and home for singing a protest song in protest of his leadership.
I haven't even heard about Scientology in so long, like they managed to drop off the radar years ago.
Everyone should be tax exempt. It's theft
Don't be mad. None of us should be paying taxes. Why strengthen the douchebags position that we should be taxed? Cmon man...
Scientology is Hollywood! I am sure it is a way for the stars to launder their money without paying taxes. Donate to Scientology and not pay taxes but still have access to the funds.
