Back in the 1960s, my father once said he wished he had a Buick so long, it would need hinges in the middle to turn into our driveway.
There were some huge monster cars back then. I had a 1966 Lincoln in the late 1970s. It floated down the road. It was black, with black vinyl top and white leather seats. The trunk was big enough to have a small party in. Idling at stoplights, I couldn't tell if the engine was running except by looking at the dash. It was the quietest car I've ever owned. But if you pressed the accelerator very hard, you could literally see the gas needle drop. It had electric seek and find on the radio and an antenna that would go up and down at the push of a button. Bonus feature: a 4-channel 8-track tape player and nice speakers. I miss that car.
