I just had an "encounter" with an atheist Q supporter here. I don't believe he is a shill or anything like that, but the dialog got me to start wondering.
Trump is pretty clearly Christian. Q posted bible verses making it pretty clear that he or they are Christian as well.
Based on what I was told by my debate partner, we Christians are spreading stupidity across the globe, and he feels it is his duty to show us how stupid we are (paraphrased - not his exact words.)
So here's my question: If you vehemently believe that there is no God, no higher power whatsoever, and all of this universe is just random happenstance, then why do you follow Q and support Trump?
How do you reconcile Q and atheism?
I don't think it is bad to discuss the nature of faith and believers. Why is it bad? I think when someone is continually ignoring my points and replying with condescension because that seems to be all they can do it is fine to call it a mental disability. How do you know I haven't shown you glimpses of greater truths than you ever thought about? You don't know but you keep ignoring everything I say and repeating your beliefs like a robot.
It's not bad to discuss, what's bad are the sweeping generalizations, it prevents us from learning the truth. Try not to mistake someone's determination to share alternative takes on the truth as being something its not! And you're not being ignored or dismissed, i've read everything you said, and am fully open to any truths you want to share when you're ready, but you haven't provided anything i haven't already heard of yet!
What I said was "You can't even entertain as a thought experiment the idea that god could be invented by people. To me that is a mental disability." I stand by that. You have thrown away your ability to have thoughts about anything that is outside your belief system. That is tragic. It is perhaps the biggest problem I see in religion. We have the natural ability to think about everything but faith makes you squander that incredible power.
I don't know what the truth is. You don't either. That is the only thing we really need to know. All the rest is possibility. The thing is I know that but you don't. You haven't commented on some major possibilities I spoke of. To think that you know the answer already to the nature of reality therefore you don't need to say anything is to me...ridiculous.
