America is NOT OK! I feel we’re being pushed into poverty so that the government can sweep in and “save” us all at the last min. Most people live paycheck-paycheck, if they are lucky to even have a job. The middle class has disappeared and the lower class is living on the streets and in their cars.

You’ve got the right idea. Not wasting money on unneeded things trying to keep up with other people. You mentioned people driving expensive trucks. Some of them are 75k+. I don’t know how people do it and still pay for everything else. I have a 93 truck that I keep on the road because newer ones are so expensive. It’s just crazy the cost of everything.
Yep we had a guy helping us 12 hours on Saturday and Sunday all summer make enough money to buy an old used truck. Then in December he was here for a week fixing it. Guys like him who work like mad and can fix anything still can barley afford a family. It's nuts.
I fix everything myself on my cars and my house. I don’t know how people can afford to pay to fix things especially right now with the prices going up so much. I work on cars for a living so I’m not rich but luckily I was able to buy my house at 23 and now have it paid off. I could never do it now.
My car is about 18 years old and a new one today costs about double what a new one cost back in '06 with pretty much the same features. The new ones have hardly any more horsepower either.
