Human cargo is a little more perishable than sensors and machinery, so it necessitates a faster trip, even if it requires a bigger rocket to do it faster. If you don't have flesh and blood that you want alive, there and back, taking your time usually results in much less expensive missions.
I found this whole thing fishy.
They blasted off a day or two ago, but said they wouldn't reach the moon until feb. I recall it only took 3 days back in the 60s/70s
