Keep a watch out for Pittsburgh Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin. This is also his 17th year coaching the team.
Edit: decendents Pete Carroll, bill bellincheck ( spelled wrong I'm sure) and Saban all within 24 hrs. The connection I've found to bellincheck and Saban, both of Croatian dependent and they are reported friends I've read. Thoughts?
There are connections. For example, Nick Saban was a defensive coach for Bill Belicheck in Cleveland while he was head coach there. Saban then moved to Michigan State where he replaced his mentor as head coach for a few years. Then he spent a few seasons at LSU as a head coach before moving back to the NFL for a few seasons as ah head coach with Miami. After Miami, he took a job with Alabama.
Pete Carroll: Basically he was a defensive coach for various NFL teams. Most notably, Carroll had a job with the Minnesota Vikings when he was considered for a head coaching job at Stanford which went to future Vikings head coach Dennis Green. Carroll can be connected with Green, Tony Dungy, and Monte Kiffin since Kiffin is connected with the Bucs as an assistant under Dungy, and it means a connection with Peyton Manning due his relationship with Dungy in Indy. As for connections with Bill Belicheck, Carroll and Belicheck were head coaches at both the Jets (Belicheck for one day) and Patriots, the latter which Belicheck was the replacement. Finally they met as head coaches in Super Bowl 49.
As for Belicheck, he wasn't the oldest coach in the NFL as Carroll was, but the Patriots now have the youngest head coach in Jerod Mayo.
