No no, he wanted to go after Catholics too. Wanted to hold the pope hostage. His advisors freaked and dragged their feet bc 40% of Germany was catholic.

He also tried putting his pic up in Sunday schools in place of Jesus at one point and the people put their foot down and the nazi govt backed off.

That's what I meant about the catholics stopping him. There were some things even he couldn't do in that regard. Sorry to have been imprecise
