The high court struck down an Arizona law that required voters to show proof of citizenship in national elections. In the majority opinion (7-2), the late Justice Antonin Scalia wrote that the state law conflicted with the 1993 National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), which mandates states “accept and use” the standardized federal voter registration form for national elections. The NVRA form, developed by the federal Election Assistance Commission, does not require proof of citizenship. It only asks an applicant “aver, under penalty of perjury, that he is a citizen.”
Seems like an honest votor registration system would have that information.
The problem we face is the honest is obviously missing.
The fed has no say in a state's elections, SCOTUS notwithstanding.

On the whole, the behavior of the SCOTUS has been way outside of their purview. I did not know that Scalia was involved in that one.

Federal Office votes. President, Congress. It's a disgrace and the Fed's forced it. 10K last election or more voted Fed offices only ballot.
This counters any claim of safe and fair elections.
Amen, every state should provide proof of citizenship or lose all Federal funding. They claim safe elections and here it is clear they are not safe.
