... Peterson’s comments did not run afoul of any Canadian laws. Rather, they were found to have contravened specific rules that exist for psychologists, a regulated profession.
“When individuals join a regulated profession, they do not lose their Charter right to freedom of expression,” says the ruling by the Ontario Divisional Court from August. “At the same time, however, they take on obligations and must abide by the rules of their regulatory body that may limit their freedom of expression.”
“The order is not disciplinary and does not prevent Dr. Peterson from expressing himself on controversial topics.”
Peterson has yet to comment publicly on the dismissal of his appeal.
Bad news for Peterson, but it's probably a good precedent that the Courts recognized that regulatory bodies have the authority to set rules for their own membership. Any body OTHER THAN government having authority is a good step towards decentralization.
The key piece, of course, is for members of these regulated professions to ensure that their professions are not hijacked by leftists--a whole other problem. At present, they all seem to have been, particularly the medical ones.
So few "normal" people want to get involved in the governance of their own professions that the vacuum leaves room for leftists to run rampant. Part of taking back control from the Cabal will involve people getting involved with their own professional governing bodies: doctors, engineers, nurses, accountants, union members, etc. -- we have to get a seat at the table.
You don't even need to do anything more than your job of straight-up governning your profession. So long as YOU are sitting there, some woke leftist is NOT sitting there.
Governments are instituted to secure our rights, not simply to exist and not infringe on our rights themselves. I disagree that some other organization being allowed to limit our speech is a good thing because of “decentralization”.
