The mistake was supporting forced college licensing for jobs, this was predictable but surprisingly few are sounding the alarm on this problem
The solution would be in legalizing practicing medicine, law, engineering, etc. without a license and legalizing competitive alternatives to bloated expensive "higher education institutions" (which are mandatory for certain jobs)
JBP almost figured it out, he did propose to set up an alternative to college some years ago but it never gained steam
(So I don't wish this upon him exactly but he benefited from a system that allows this, so it is kind of a "what goes around comes around" situation in my view. He should have worked more actively to correct this coercive system)
