Not if better battery tech comes out. EV's are great in every way except for the shitty batteries they put in them. There are many technologies that are being suppressed under the guise of national security. Once the veil is removed EV's will be the norm.

We have had more development in battery tech in the last 20 years than the last 150 years. It’s getting better, but like anything else- it takes time and not all development steps are planned.

Some happy accident is bound to happen leading to a leap forward. You just cannot plan on that
