Why would anyone trust anything the Red Cross has to say?
It was a different and more honorable organization 80 years ago.
My Pop was a WWII vet and he had nothing but contempt for the RC for their behavior then and afterward. They charged $45 a month soldiers ten cents for a cup of coffee and a donut. They also sold socks and sweaters. The Salvation Army (I know, I know) gave away the refreshments and clothing.
I stopped giving them blood after 9/11 when they burned thousands of pints rather than asking people to come back in a couple of months.
Fuck the Red Cross.
