If you don't study history you will be condemned to repeat it. Ancient Rome did that, let in mercenaries and soldiers from other cultures who had very little allegiance to Rome, and now we speak of Ancient Rome in the past tense.
This is exactly the topic of a recent conversation with my friend who is a historiographer (fancy name for someone who studies the history OF history). We are in agreement that the aim is to populate the military and law enforcement with people who have no allegiance to their countrymen (us) because they ARENβT their countrymen, and thus would be willing to use lethal measures on U.S. population when called upon to do so.
