I’ve been watching this, we’re a small family farm, and what I’ve seen thus far is you’ll be required, as of now, to use these tags for show animals and on cattle that are shipped across state lines. I can avoid this for now, as neither conditions will apply, but it’s only a matter of time before its mandated for all livestock. And then some climate change asshole will decide that I will need to be taxed on each of those cattle. And then I’ll be out of the cattle business. Really tired of the lack of science that these people spew.
I agree, but right now it’s being spun as a great way to track diseases, and while that’s true, it will also be a great way to track livestock numbers and then tax the shit out of ranchers because of methane emissions and “climate change”.
Not sure why they’re worried anyway. Cattle numbers are down in North America because of the drought and freezes. Farmers and ranchers are having to ship cattle because we don’t have hay to feed and feed costs are through the roof because of the droughts the last couple of years.
Right, what is so environmentally friendly about harvesting data into the cloud for internet of things?
future "These cows are creating climate change because we need to put these ear tags on them and the ear tags aren't sustainable. So we need to get rid of the cows"

You know this is due to big pharma, right? I am hoping their death grips will be pried off soon.
Regardless of which DS agency is behind it, it’s affecting a lot of ranchers.
Need to ban this.

I think the environmentalists are right. We should revert to the pre-industrial situation.
Remind me, how many bison were there in North America in pre-industrial times?
