Over the midwest....woke up this morning to blue skies with low level contrails being laid in every direction by a half dozen planes....now we sit with a thick silvery blue haze above us. These are not typical high altitude contrails I have seen throughout my life. They slowly dissipate and are low enough you can see the hazy/spider web like residue from them as they fall towards earth. Can still see the sun, but clearly the contrails have dissipated and are now hazing the skies. What are reports from other major metropolitan areas in the country? Would like to know how prevalent and how many major cities are seeing this. (note - image is not from today...I just pulled it off the Internet).
