Lived in my house for 16 years. HO insurance used to be $500/year.
Three years ago jumped to $900 Two years ago jumped to $1,100 Now this year to $1,549
$308k dwelling, sewer back-up/service line coverage. $1k deductible. No claims history.
How in the fuck do you explain a $450 increase in a year?? Something is not right here. Curious to see what others are experiencing.
Bought a few years ago when market was overpriced for housing so our dwelling is 650k. (I didn't pay that)
They had my personal property at 400k limit.
I paid 1900 last year.
So I asked to lower my dwelling. If I had to rebuild, I'd rebuild smaller not a "like" house. I definitely do not own 400k in personal belongings in my house. I have cheap ikea furniture and nothing of value and could easily replace furniture and clothes for 50k.
I put in the request for changes so we will see what my agent says. 🤷 🤞
I hope they do for u , I tried and they wouldn’t do it .. farmers !?

Sate farms is farmers now right ? Or is it 21 century and State Farm merged ,, I need to get a bundle and see if I can get cheaper , I used to have 21 ins for car and now it’s staefarm I think, but it sucks , they wouldn’t even send me ins cards ,, they say over recorded messsge to sign up website and get myself ,, I’m so tired of paying companies to do their job !
