Biggest problem I see is uninformed voters electing some random dudes/dudettes as their representative from their states purely based on campaign ads absolutely not knowing the candidate and his/her values.
I am not sure if democracy of voting really works. Majority of people who vote have no knowledge of the constitution, background of candidates, funding sources and so many factors. Shouldn't there be some criteria to vote?
Forget voter Id, paper ballots, same day voting, etc..which still doesn't check qualification of voters. Even if all election integrity rules are fulfilled, what's the point in a "citizen" marking some random circle off the ballot. You might as well just run a lottery instead. Electing a suitable rep is an honorable, precious job. For any other job, we use meritocracy, why not use it for voters too?
