PNC to open 100 branches in the US - but how many has it shut?

PNC Bank said on Wednesday that within the next four years it will open 100 branches in the US - but last year it shut 239.

I'm in a good neighborhood. They closed my branch. Instead of going 2 towns away I opened an account in another local bank 1 block from the closed PNC. So how does that work out for PNC - losing customers.

They just closed branches in high crime areas and now will put some back in better neighborhoods.

All of the branches that I've seen close in my area over the last two years WERE in good neighborhoods. Where the heck else would they reopen?
