Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Funny, after I made the post about Coles and Woolies, I just found this interesting post about Aldi (the "cheap" supermarket chain out here) on 4chan
I went to Aldi a couple times long ago when people kept raving about how happy they are that stuff is cheap there. What I saw was just crap. Crap from top to bottm Crap from front to back. Crap everywhere. And yeah, their toilet paper is probably dollar or two cheaper for a 20 pack, but you will also lose a part of your ass if you use that paper too long. So you are not really comparing apple to apples.
So for the most part it is indeed like you talk about dollar shops. They sell stuff for cheap, but the stuff they sell is junk anyway.
However I have occasionally seen complaints about how they sell even that cheap stuff cheaper than the cost price. So makes me think that both possibilities exist.
Since the days of Superfresh (ah I remember that chain fondly), I don't really know how the supermarket chains in US operate, but out here Downunder, we have two big chains - Coles and Woolies.
Riccardo Bosi made an excellent point a while ago that both these supermarkets had advance notice of the Plandemic lockdowns long before the lockdowns happened. They were well prepared for mostly delivery based business model for more than a year or two, long before it actually happened.
The point I am making is that atleast here, these big chains are criminals and will eventually be gone, paving the way for mum and pop stores and direct from farmers. This is true regardless of whether these chains have been committing crimes against Humanity, for the simple reason that they are destroying smaller businesses.
My guess is that eventually all these big chains (and not just Groceries, think about Target etc as well) will be gone because they. are all fuelled by the Magic Fed Money in the first place with the sole purpose of controlling humanity.
Yep, all that is just optics for stealing out wealth steadily by printing more and more money, aka Fiat Ponzi Scam.
This is why stuff used to be constructed solidly, and beautiful artisan items were affordable for everyone. But as time went by, solid stuff got replaced by plastics and artisan items replaced by Chinese goods. We watched value drained away from us collectively, while being told there is no inflation.
Hate it or not, you gotta give them this. They put so much of their effort in destroy us, in so many million ways. If we have 1% of that conviction in making ourselves better, we will shoot leaps and bounds forward.
