I have a question , someone told me that dollar bills and coins are different . I’m talking bills 5 10,s 100.s and nickles dimes quarters . I was told even if our dollars become worthless our change will always hold its value . I have a lot of silver and a small amount of gold but I also ordered cases of change . I have thousands of dollars in cases of quarters dimes nickles dollar coins and 50 cent pieces . They are sitting in a big safe separate from the silver and gold etc . If the dollar becomes worthless the coins won’t is that correct ? Thank you
When they change to a new currency, they will probably exchange them for the new. A very tiny amount of our money is actually printed and minted. It's extremely hard and expensive to mint all new coins, so they may even keep them.
Who knows maybe the coins will be worth a few bucks in my kids years to come . What’s crazy is I have a couple thousand dollars in arm half dollars you still pay $.50 at the bank for them there’s people selling them all over the Internet for six bucks apiece nine bucks apiece 20 bucks apiece different years I have hundreds of every year
I put about 10% into silver, I don't trust the banks or the FED. they can take your money if they make a bad bet on derivatives or swaps. Read the fine print on your acc.
I would change that pronto if it were me. Been collecting silver for a bit. You can buy physical silver and gold online at numerous places. I've bought from 5 or 6 companies.
If anyone has questions about buying and storing metal.
Ask away.

But I'm just guessing.

Check the half dollers for 90% and 40% silver.
1964 and earlier is 90% silver and 65-74 is 40% silver.
I've been thinking of buying some and checking them myself. It's mainly the 1/2 dollers that are worth checking.
I guess my question is should I be? I have zero right now. Lots of cash stored up in mutual funds and 401k though.
