Both sides of my family have soldiers and Generals who fought to gain freedom from England during the revolution. I am so proud of their effort, but feel so lost for letting their hard work slip away. Communism has been insidious and I dropped the ball in my generation. I could cry right now :-(

My grandmother, who was the president of the DAR in Studio City, California, did a genealogy on our family and we’re related to George Washington 😉
Yes! Me also. By his brother because you know George didn’t have any children.
Same here, through his brother who lived in what is now West Virginia, via my grandmother's family. Also 5 times great-grandfather was a Revolutionary War soldier and was at Yorktown.
We are all probably related 😅. Come on over for dinner anytime!
I'm sure we are. While I was researching our family, I learned my then sister-in-law and I were distant cousins. We're both descended from a brother and a sister (my family) who married a sister and a brother (her family) in the 1700s. Another friend found her ancestor and her husband's ancestor came to Virginia on the same ship in the late 1600s. Neither my SIL nor the friend had any idea their family had ever lived in Virginia.
