My gut reaction is that I'd rather have Gaetz in a national position vs being a leader of a single state, feel as if his voice has more reach, more power. Just mho.
I'd ask what you think of him for VP, but if I recall correctly POTUS and VPOTUS cannot be from the same state and Trump's primary residence is considered to be Florida now like Gaetz. If they were from different states I think Gaetz might be a good candidate for VP.
Deep state does not like Gaetz, have tried to smear him repeatedly.
'Our analysis indicates a strong MAGA influence within the Florida Republican electorate, with 63% identifying as “MAGA Republicans.” This demographic could play a pivotal role, especially if former President Donald Trump, who enjoys a favorable view from 82% of the respondents, chooses to endorse a candidate.
The impact of such an endorsement is deemed more influential than one from Governor Ron DeSantis, suggesting potential shifts in voter support pending high-profile endorsements.'
I think 45 will want him in his administration, but FL MAGA would welcome him as governor, especially after DeSantis's self=approved absentee governorship, copycat candidacy, and pathetic attempts to recover some of his former reputation/pretense as an "America First" governor from that dumpster fire of a run as he limps to the end of his term. He's done, and FL's done with him.

That was my reaction too. He is one of the few in Congress putting a brake (somewhat) on Deep State fuckery.

I hadn't thought about the VP angle.
