She didnt eat her eggs and bacon. Slept most of the day.slurped some water.
I got home from work and she was up and about with a wiggly tail. I wrapped an antibiotic in a piece of cheese, she ate it.
She was looking for food.we didnt have anything ready for her.i gave her 3 cans of tuna with the water, she ate it all.she seems to like tuna. If its tuna she wants, its tuna she will get. Ill hit the store tonight and grab her a bunch of big cans. Should probably get rice to mix with it.
I cant say that shes getting better or cured. But she doesnt seem to be getting any worse than she was a month ago.The only side effects ive seen so far is shes got the hershey squirts and her claws grew pretty damn quick.
Lots of good advice from the frens here and lots of prayers too…we’re all pulling for you two….. Eggs….natures best food, scrambled or soft boiled maybe even hard boiled. I remember the days when raw eggs were a big health thing but my problem is….today you can no longer trust the food. I wouldn’t do raw anything. Not that I dislike the concept but rather what happens to EVERYTHING between the farm and the store…these freaks can’t even give you safe meds anymore. I cook the crap out of everything knowing I might be reducing the nutrition on some things but not taking a chance with germy filth the warehouses, plants and illegal germ bags leave all over. Not to mention inject into everything (who knows what we haven’t heard about or deduced on our own) Tuna….a good post. Yes it is high in mercury but it’s not like that’s her steady diet…a couple cans now and again shouldn’t hurt…. as for the negative review on starch I understand….”it’s a dog, it’s an animal, they eat meat” true but only to some extent …our animals are not wolf cubs we raised from pups, they are not feral dingos. Man has pretty much messed with dogs in domesticating them. I do believe they could handle raw meat a lot better than a person could but I don’t think it should be given as daily food. They are no more the wild creatures they once were than man himself is.
Potato and rice….I only say BROWN cause it’s a better alternative. The point is it fills the dog up and will keep the squirts under control. A lot of loose poop can become a problem of it own (dehydration). Rice is a solution, you can even give her a spoon or two of Pepto Bismol, check dose on label for kid size.
Thing is we don’t have some healthy wild animal here. We’re dealing with a beloved dear dog who is fighting a deadly disease with your help. She is special circumstance ! Your heart is broken, everyone is afraid and terribly worn out, both mentally, emotionally and physically. Pray for her healing and your strength and guidance. Balance the food the best you can while she’s eating, when she’s not you give her whatever she wants to keep her going….no one could ask or give more than that. Don’t give up until she does and signals you to do the same.
She doesn’t appear to be in any pain or ready to throw the towel in. There’s a good chance everyone worrying over this girl is suffering more at the moment than she is. In these times of sickness the big problem is us questioning ourselves.
Everything you are doing now is so far working, a good sign. Stick with it ! Ultimately EVERYTHING is in Gods hands and his will. Bless you all and us who care too.
