Prayers on the way.
Amen. I heard the opening of his radio show yesterday, and if anyone didn't hear it, you should find it immediately and listen, at least to the first 15 minutes.
The way he described the early morning hours (3am) of Thursday morning will give you chills Like Dan, I believe there is more to this life than what we can see or touch on this physical plane. His mom "visited" him at the time of her death, and he felt her presence for a fleeting moment.
10 years ago, I found out that my Dad had had a heartattack and was in bad shape. I lived 7 hours away and started driving at 7pm. When I got to the hospital I was told that they flew him to a larger hospital 3 hours further away. After 2 more hours of driving, I started hallucinating and could not keep myself awake, so I pulled off the road for a power nap. It only took me a few minutes to recharge and get back driving. When I finally got to the hospital, I was informed that he had died during the few minutes that I had stopped to rest. In my mind, my Dad realized I was endangering myself and convinced me to pull over.
It's important, I believe, that we pay attention to such things like this. As Dan said yesterday on his show, there is more going on in this world than we flawed humans realize.
Way more.
100%. When my dad's brother passed away, we knew it was coming. Middle of the night, my mom said my dad gasped and sat straight up in bed and said "my brother just died." Sure enough, we found out the next morning that he had died about 3:30am.
Both my grandma and my FIL'"visited" me several hours before they passed. Some of the clearest dreams I have ever had. It gave me peace and I feel lucky to have had the experience.
Had a similar experience with my estranged Dad in the 2007 time frame (he bolted from the family in the early 80s). I remember waking up in the middle of the night and vaguely thinking that he had just passed away; a few years later my sister went looking for him online and found his death notice posted with the same date in 2007.
My wife’s father was in Hospice for terminal cancer about ten years ago. One night just before he passed one of the nurses pulled my wife to the side and told her that the “Angels” were gathered around her Dad’s bedside waiting to escort him to Heaven (he was a Believer and yes, the nurse always knew when someone was close to death because she said that’s when she could see the Angels in the building).
Lastly, a friend was telling me about one of her distant relatives who had suffered a sudden relapse from his cancer and literally within a few days after he started vomiting blood he was close to death. (She tried to get him on the Joe Tippens’ protocol earlier but he apparently kept postponing it, saying that he was going to start it as soon as he was done with chemo.). Anyway, within a couple of days in the hospital he fell into a coma and she said just before he took his last breath, he suddenly woke up, bolted upright in his bed, looked upward and said, “Wow… It’s so beautiful.” Immediately afterwards he laid back down and breathed his last.
Amen.
