Headline:
Trump may enlist Paul Manafort, who was criticized for Russia ties
Key paragraphs:
Former president Donald Trump is expected to enlist Paul Manafort, the former campaign manager he pardoned, as a campaign adviser later this year, according to four people familiar with the talks.
The job discussions have largely centered around the 2024 Republican convention in Milwaukee in July and could include Manafort playing a role in fundraising for the presumptive GOP nomineeβs campaign, according to these people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe private deliberations. While no formal decision has been made, the four people described the hiring as expected and said Trump was determined to bring Manafort back into the fold.
Confirmed???
A Trump campaign spokeswoman did not respond to a request for comment. Manafort also did not respond to a request for comment.
Anyone see Trump's campaign comment on this?
Manafort pled guilty to two charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States and witness tampering,[21] while agreeing to cooperate with prosecutors. I donβt know anything about this guy but I would think Trump could find somebody much better!
He was set up and went to prison just like Mike Flynn. He did nothing wrong by everything I have read and heard. He turned into an old man there. You should hear how Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro talk about how they did him. This is why I believe him to be a good man.
Set up? Didnβt he plead guilty?
Didn't Mike Flynn. When you're being blackmailed into pleading or they're going to do something to your children, what do you do?
Can you provide a source of that?
I would take those charges more seriously if we had something that resembled a functional justice system.
In the meantime, the real heroes evade taxes and fuck over the government any way they can.
