I think the Constitution says we have to do it every 10 years but I don't think it says we can't do it earlier and do the scheduled one in 2030. If Trump gets in it could be a supreme court issue.
That’s a good point. If Trump removes all illegals as promised, California loses more than half its residents. If they do an immediate census afterwards, then the electoral votes are spread to other states before the 28 election. This would also cost California more than half of their congressional seats. California may have to redraw their congressional districts by combining many of them.
Next opportunity to fix it is in 2030 unless Trump somehow initiates one early in his next term.

Also with the support Trump has among minorities now, democrats will never be in majority ever again if something like this happened.
