I guess you could say Evergiven wasn't stuck for too long to cause shortages and huge inflation. You need an event and then sell the story to masses. Market is controlled by couple of entities and their algos but you can't just start selling everything. If I remember correctly the negative crude oil price started by bombing of fields in middle east. The damage was quite negligible but it caused huge reversal in crude oil markets and to go nuts in the end.
