I don't have time to listen to this until after work, but I wanted to chime in.
When I was looking for a new church in my city most churches either teach the yeast of the Sadducees or yeast of the Pharisees. The yeast of the Sadducess being where they take nothing in the Bible literally or seriously, like the United Church. The yeast of the Pharisees being where they teach that faith MEANS works/obedience (Like John MacArthur).
The false gospel of John MacArthur, which Paul condemns heavily in the book of Galatians is very pervasive. I think this is a reason why the church is so weak; people only hear a downgraded gospel.
If people could hear the true Gospel: that because Jesus Christ has paid the ENTIRE price, nothing is required on their part, not a single good work or act of obedience, beyond simply believing in his Name to receive eternal life immediately and irrevocably, I think our churches would be full again.
I like Vernon, because he teaches that faith alone is all that is required for salvation.
Edit: I want to clarify, I think people who don't understand the doctrine of salvation by faith alone or who believe a false Gospel like John MacArthur are still saved. They have still believed in Christ. The people Paul writes to in Roman are acknowledge as believers, even though Paul has to explain the doctrine of faith alone to them.

Looking for Love in all the Wrong Places :
For where two or three are gathered together in my Name, there am I in the midst of them. --Matthew 18:20
Neither shall men say, Lo here, or lo there: for behold, the kingdom of God is within you. -- Luke 17 :21
No Church will spend time with these.
Valid observations, nicely stated and framed.
