The video, as Catturd noted, clearly shows the ship traveling, the lights going out, and while power was out, the ship executed a 90 degree turn, to hit the bridge pylon (these are canoe shaped FOR A REASON) at the perfect angle to cause the bridge support structure to be knocked off the support pylon. The bridge pylons are shaped to deflect downstream collisions.
The ship changed direction, to hit the deflector at a 90 degree angle. Just happened to be a full moon - to take full advantage of tidal forces. Just happened a few days after heavy rains, which made the downstream current faster. Too many coincidences.
