Are there any legitimate reasons why so many places are taking such crazy precautions related to this eclipse?

Just curious what everyone is thinking. Maybe some things I haven’t thought of.

Maybe they know there will be a serious strain on resources from the massive number of visitors to the areas of totality. Maybe they know this will be the largest traffic jam seen since the 2017 eclipse. I personally saw Interstate 81 from the Seveirville, TN exit bridge after the 2017 eclipse when it was a six lane parking lot.

Then again, maybe they are just trolling the weak minded.
