'towed howitzers' are hardly the pinnacle of modern warfare. More concerning for them is they appear to be out of Patriot missiles, and Patriot batteries, over large swaths of the country. Possibly everywhere but Kiev itself. Everyone is telling them they have no more Patriot batteries to spare and I bet that's why we approved 65 f16 transfers-- without the Patriot missiles they are getting hammered by Russian air power. But if they get a shipment of f16s they will likely be destroyed on the runway by missile strikes so they are not expected to be a difference maker unless they have permission to launch from some NATO nation
