Hopefully y'all know me as I have been posting here (tho not too often) for many years now. I am worried about my nephew. He is in his early 40's and was diagnosed many years ago as bipolar 2. He has been on many different medications thru the years and tries his best to control his issues ..... but lately the meds just aren't cutting it and he is having a very rough time. It has gotten to the point where he is willing to consider alternative methods to control/fix the problems he is having. As you all know I turned to Christ and am 25+ years sober due to His strength. But aside from trying to enlighten him into a life of faith does anyone have any other recommendations? I'm looking for any good books on holistic/homeopathic methods, cleansing methods, etc.... Anyone with 1st hand experience with bipolar? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Saw this in /all. I have experience. If he drinks or does any drugs, he has to stop because it causes major mood shifts. Peer support works. Look for a group called depression and bipolar support alliance.
May not be popular here, but micro dosing psylocibon works, too. You do not get high at all. It takes some time, but I was able to even get off of meds completely and I don't micro dose any more (it's temporary).
Lastly, reduce stress as much as possible and recognize we live in a very toxic society that some are more effected by than others. Would be good to talk about this with him because the psych world tells you are crazy for things that may just be a reaction to living amongst crazy. If he can shift his mindset a bit, it can be healing in itself.
You're a good uncle.
Great advice:) Thanks so much!
This was what I was going to say. LSD and Psyliscibin create new neural pathways and are showing great promise with addiction and psychological disorders. Helped a friend of mine with ptsd and I read a story about a guy who was a heroin addict that did ayahuasca (DMT) and after many hours came down from his high said he hydrated ate breakfast then lunch and didn't realize until after dinner he hadn't shot up in more than 24 hours and didn't even have the desire to.
Psychedelics have spiritual and medicinal benefits, don't listen to burnouts that did it every day in school saying it's a way of life or straight laced people who heard from a guy that heard from a guy that knew of one instance that proves they are the worst thing you can do.
