My opinion, legalizing cannabis takes it out of the hands of the drug dealers, I use it daily, I do not get "stoned", it's a matter of how much you do at one time, just like with alcohol, one glass of wine or a bottle? It has less health risks than alcohol, it does indeed have medical value, for mobility issues, adhd, inflammation, poor appetite, anxiety, insomnia, epilepsy, parkinsons, it helps alleviate pain and can allow those treated for pain to remain at their dose, instead of having to raise the dose over time. If you have property, and grow it for your own use, no one should tell you what kind of plant to grow or what to do with it. I have heard of drunken brawls but never heard of cannabis brawls. I live in a legal state, grow my own for years, I do not sell it, but, if I wanted to , I can go to a dispensary and buy some.
No. Smoking weed is not like drinking booze. When people drink, they get drunker, and drunker the more they drink until they pass out, or die. They also continue to get more intoxicated, as they drink.
Smoking weed is not anything like that. People cannot smoke so much that they pass out, or die. Nor do they continue to get more intoxicate with the quantity of weed smoked, because the body has a saturation limit- one can only get so high.
The term "smoke yourself straight" comes from people smoking so much hemp in one session that the intoxication effects wear off before a person is finished smoking all their weed.
TL;DR: A weed "buzz" has a plateau point, unlike booze.
All I know is that I roll one joint a day, and take a few hits through the day. If it is a day to goof off and watch movies, I will smoke more, and that will make me feel a bit more of the effect, not feel like doing much except to watch the movie and snack, if I take a couple of hits, I may feel a buzz, but the stiffness in my joints (body joints) is abated and my movements are better. I will be 74 and have used pot for a very long time. Not everyone drinks more after one glass of wine, and they can do so without being considered under the influence, especially if it is with dinner. A glass of sherry at night is a lot different than 12 beers in a day. And you can pass out from too much pot, have you not heard the term "greening out", or eat more than one brownie? There is such a thing as couch lock. Moderation is the key.
