My sister was like, "oh, i cannot watch a military movie with husband, so she went grocery shopping, lol"

She was like, "oh, you will see."

This was a really fascinating movie to watch with him.

I learned all about HALO and HAHO. Heard of HALO before, but had no idea what HAHO was, so thought to share.

Also, learned about JTAC and JSOC.

Will share a few insights. He was asking me to pause movie every few seconds, lol.

Can see why my sister doesnt like watching military movies with him, but i found it fascinating.

First pause. One of the Delta Operators asks the JTAC if he has ever done a HALO jump?

Response is no.

My BIL says, stop!

This JTAC is in training and not far enough in the "pipeline" to do a JSOC operation.

This would never happen.

We continue watching.

In the helicopter, BIL says two things. Guns not properly secured while in copter for a HALO jump. Also, no sign of air canisters. I ask, "could they be in backpack?"

No, they would be visible on outside.

My BIL is retired Group 5, the asian SF. He was very familiar with this island.

Thats when he said, this should have been a HAHO jump. He explained, "the part where the pilot says, at 2k feet and going to 15k to drop is right, but. You do not want them to know you are coming. Say your target is 15 miles away, drop at high altitude, then High Open chutes and drift to the target."

But, requires high skill and a newbie JTAC could not do that and too hard to make sense in movie.

I could go on and on, lol, but will say one last thing.

Once they hit the ground, they were 8km from target.

My BIL said total BS. You are not traversing 8KM on that island without a bulldozer or paved road.

The scenes of open trails through forest are total BS.

Was interesting to watch with him.
