Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas Discusses Operation Mongoose in Presidential Immunity Arguments (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pund...
Conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas poked holes in special prosecutor Jack Smith’s theory that Trump is the first president to face criminal charges because former presidents have never committed crimes.
In response to Dreeben’s argument, Justice Clarence Thomas stated, “Over the not-so-distant past … certain presidents had engaged in various activities, coups or operations like Operation Mongoose when I was a teenager, and yet there were no prosecutions.”
Operation Mongoose was a CIA covert operation that was authorized under President Dwight Eisenhower and continued under the Kennedy administration.
Under the operation, the CIA conducted terrorist attacks against Cuban civilians and attempted several assassination attempts against Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.
Refers to CIA assassination attempts upon Cubans - pre-missile crisis, including several attempts on their head of state. Did they not wonder why the Soviets were there at Castro's request? He was sending smoke signals to sane people with military might (Soviets) to preserve his country, and himself. No - the people were told that the Russians were power-hungry, and greedy, and wanting to attack Americans on their own soil.
Unfortunately, the C I A got a bit too cocky, and decided that they would use their new-found skills internally instead: Kennedy was in the way of their plans for world domination anyway, and the kill-mission was so much easier to achieve on home-ground.
So, in a way, the Operation Mongoose reference is skirting around the grandest of all power grabs: i.e., the intelligence community subverting the Executive power in the USA (and other countries), while ginning up a Cold War with their previous allies. You know the drill: MOAR WAR.
The whole thing is a Web of Lies.
Kennedy pissed them off with refusing to send troops during the bay of pigs, pulling us out of Vietnam and ending the Fed. JFK was in the way so now you kniow who all benefitted from his death. Not the Russians as they were happy JFK was not a War Hawk , and Castro was happy with JFK not supporting the Bay of Pigs invasion. So both parties had a interest to keep JFK alive.
How about LBJ?
How about FDR sending armed agents to kill farmers' hogs?
Please do not get me started on LBJ. Only good thing besides our troops in Khe Sanh finally freed, Khe Sanh made LBJ not seek reelection.
There is a long history.
He admitted he stole the election for his Senate seat.
He was a very bad man.
