To some, it is a way of farm life….but to most of the country it would probably seem strange

You mean the the people in this country with "dog mom" stickers on their cars? Dogs are animals...pets...I have had dogs all my life. If one tries to bite the person it should respect the most, it cannot be trained for anything benevolent.
