Russell Theodore (Ted) Clarke, 86, passed away at his home in Bristow, Virginia, on Thursday, March 14th. He was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania on September 15, 1937, to Russell Clarke and Lottie May Stecher.
After graduating from Temple University, he joined the U.S. Army. He then married Patricia Blount in October of 1961. He served in Vietnam and Grenada and retired as a Lt. Colonel in 2002. He was employed at Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation as a Systems Analyst for our National Security at the time of his civilian retirement. As a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Gainesville, Virginia, Russ served as an usher and loved his church family. He was a very active member of the Knights of Columbus at All Saints Catholic Church (George Brent Council.)
An avid golfer and bowler, Russ was a passionate all-around sports fan, especially when it came to his beloved Redskins and Nationals.
Preceded in death by his brother, Richard Clarke and his granddaughter, Kelley Wortman, Russ is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Patricia, brother Dennis Clarke, daughters Holly Wiltshire and Marisa Clarke-Numan, grandchildren Adam, Carly and Alexis Wortman; Trevor and Brandon Wiltshire as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24th at Pierce Funeral Home 9609 Center Street (RT 28) in Manassas, Virginia from 3:00-5:00 PM.
Funeral Services will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church 8213 Linton Hall Rd. Gainesville, Virginia on Monday, March 25th at 10:30 AM with interment at Quantico National Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
