With all respect to OP, your premise is a red herring.
Israel broke the covenant with God. Many times. Christ's New Covenant super-ceded and annulled the old Covenant. [epistle of Paul to the Hebrews.] That is what Christianity is: the new Covenant.
Evangelicals who tie US as individuals and the U.S. to the the modern secular Israeli Nation State b/c they identify those Biblical chosen people with the present secular (non religious, even non Jewish, non chosen people) nation state of Israel and are willing to accept apocalypse and the end of the world for it, are just simply wrong.
Modern secular Israel is not any 'chosen people' and we may support them as we would based on geopolitical logic but for NO OTHER reason.
Israel was a forced state by the Balfour Convention. Soviet Russia had offered a place for them as well. If modern Israel were to cease to exist, well it was flawed since its inception, and that would have nothing whatsoever to do with "chosen people" but geopolitical reality.
Israel as a nation state has a right to defend its existence. People of Jewish descent have a right to live in peace in a community of their choice. But that is it.
The US supports its geopolitical allies. Israel has proved she can take care of herself. With all our previous billions! Now she can defend herself.
It is a red herring to suggest we or anyone else is suggesting that Israel cease to exist.
