So this Radio Executive, Robert Monroe researched some audio frequencies that were supposed to give you an "Out of Body" experience. This is what we now know as "binaural beats", which you can listen to on Youtube. He made a company "The Monroe Institute" and sold books about it. The military had some classified programs to determine if psychics could remote view into the USSR and so this was a classified funded program where this "Monroe Institute" was involved. That's it. Everything else is just pieced together parts of scientific knowledge from before the 1980's and mixed with made up stuff from this Radio businessman, Robert Monroe trying to explain how out of body experiences work.

I’m 50/50 on the whole monroe institute simply being militarized wu-wu, either for the head researchers benefit, or others’ / other benefits. Not saying there isn’t something to it, to some extent anyway. Who knows?
