True, we didn't have those advanced engines in the 60's when I was growing up, but we did have enough tech to land on the moon in 1969.

Correct. We landed on the moon with the computational equivalent of a Casio wrist watch. Did you know? And the 1960s, orbital mechanics worked pretty much the same as it does today
