Years ago, I disobeyed my employer's "policies" (a state university) by conceal carrying on campus for over a year. I had another employee threatening people in our office, and I was in an office that was a dead end - one way out only. I decided I'd rather be alive to defend myself than dead from obeying the rules. I've never been sorry and would do it again in a heartbeat. Rules sometimes get you killed.
