Glioblastoma
that sucks. that's the worst kind. did they remove it with surgery or did they go straight to chemo/radiation
So it actually happened to my grandmother too (my mom's mom). For that one, they did attempt to remove but it left my grandmother basically bed ridden for the remaining nine months of her life.
For my mom, they did a biopsy, and came back stating it was a non cancerous tumor. She was relieved, and then told me at some point around three months letter that she went to another neurologist appointment and this person told her that it actually was glioblastoma. Like her mother had.
I believe at this point it was just chemo and radiation, but she was pretty much a shell of her former self the moment the treatments started.
I guess it's genetic, and I pray for myself and my children that we somehow skip the cycle - but if I find myself there, I'm not going to be going down that same treatment route.
it happened the opposite for me. they told me at first i had glioblastoma and to start getting my affairs in order, basically. i wouldnt make it to 40. then after a week or so of feeling devastated they changed the diagnosis to something that isnt as deadly. might have 10 or 20 years left, God willing. but a lot of the alternative medicine i have found is for glioblastoma, and i'm not sure it applies anymore
Well, I'm glad to hear they changed your diagnosis. It's still a bit morbid to think about having this expiration date floating over your head- but then again, we all do. I like to think I'll make it to 100, but I may not make it another 100 seconds.
Just got to live my life being thankful for what I have, and attempt to be a blessing unto others. God bless you, fren.
