Everyone knows there is 'something' off about the story, everyone that lived through it knows what is being said about it, is not how it went down.
But, for someone who trusts the government, maybe they were conditioned their entire lives from grade school on that they needed gov, and without it everything goes to shit...
Telling them to look at something that might reveal to them their core belief is a lie(& all that entails) but also if found to be true, the only action is a war with yourself is a pretty hard sell.
Do you accept it, or fight against it for whatever is your jam/purpose. Which also forces you to confront whether you love that 'jam' more than yourself.
Not 1 in 10000 are brave enough for that - especially if you didn't live through it, and have that emotional tie to it.
IMO, its nothing more than simple cowardice.
