Serving your country is an honor no matter which branch you choose. I'm a retired Navy Special Operations Diver (EOD). There will be tough times, and there will be fantastic times. It all averages out. I have no regrets. In fact, I find myself wishing I too could turn the clock back just to do it again!!
Yes, go talk with the recruiter and see what they have to offer and if that meets your plans. Remember, once in Club DD214. you're part of a unique relationship with your Country. You are that security blanket that allows the rest of us to sleep at night. God bless you Patriot....
I think even u/eagledriver will concur: Remember, if it's worth it to you, then nothing will hold you back!! Good luck! Be honest with the recruiter. It will make the process much easier. Depending on your desired career occupation, You may have to wait for a job opening, but it'll be worth it. Start getting yourself in shape ASAP. We need more like you to ensure our Constitutional Republic stays as originally designed. Good luck and God speed to you fren!!
One more very important thing to remember. As you raise your hand and take that all important first oath is an oath that you will not be relieved of until you release your last breath.
