Not all of them are blackmailed, a whole lot of them have been simply threatened into shutting up. I mean if you got pulled into a room with your wife and child and a kid who you've never met before and some people tell you that you have to do something to this kid or they're going to blow your wife's brains out right in front of you, what do you do?
In ancient Babylon, they used to sacrifice babies by putting them into the hands of a bronze statue which were heated up by fire underneath, so that the child would willingly commit suicide by jumping into the fire, which automatically condemned their soul to hell. The devil knows God's rules. Even to sin under extreme duress is still to sin. Would they prefer something more subtle so that somebody doesn't even realize that the stage has been set? Yes. But at the end of the day these devils are not above more crude and brutish methods for those amongst us who are more stubborn.
I am not in good authority to say that God considered a child being burned alive jumping into the flame to escape is consider a sin of suicide because nowhere in the Bible had I seen this.
