The petro dollar agreement has two parts; 1, SA agrees to trade/sell oil in US dollars, and 2, in return the US guarantees to defend SA against any and all attackers. This is why the US was involved in the gulf war.
So if SA does not renew the deal, who will defend the kingdom from attack?
