Copper thieves did the same to an elevated interstate near downtown San Antonio. It was dark for over a year... took the crews that fixed it about 4 months to pull new wire. Its been working for a few months now. I am betting it won't last a year. Copper is a semi precious metal which is why pennies used to be copper. Then it got to be too expensive to produce a coin that usually got tossed into a container and forgotten about. Thus the switch to Zinc. Been thinking bout stacking copper with my silver. Might as well put a bunch of lead in the vault too I guess.
